What are RWA and tokenized stocks?
Real-world assets (RWAs) are traditional financial assets—such as U.S. treasuries, stocks, and ETFs—that are digitized and issued on the blockchain via tokenization. Each tokenized asset is backed by underlying assets held in compliant custody and pegged 1:1 to its real-world counterpart, ensuring transparency and trust.
Tokenized stocks are a key component of RWAs. By converting stocks into tokens, you can trade directly on the blockchain 24/7. Each token represents an equivalent share of the underlying stock. This approach removes the geographical and time barriers inherent in traditional financial markets, allowing investors to access premium global assets anytime, anywhere—without relying on traditional brokers or complex account systems.
Traditional U.S. stock trading vs Bitget Onchain U.S. stock trading
Traditional U.S. stocks are usually traded through brokers (such as Robinhood or TD Ameritrade) on centralized exchanges like Nasdaq or the NYSE, where investors own the actual shares. In contrast, U.S. stocks traded on Bitget Wallet and Onchain (in partnership with Ondo Finance) are tokenized. These are digital tokens on the blockchain pegged to real U.S. stock prices, but they do not confer direct ownership of the underlying shares.
● Traditional stock trading is better suited for long-term investors seeking stability and regulatory safeguards, offering real ownership but with higher entry barriers and limited flexibility.
● Bitget Onchain, meanwhile, offers innovative and convenient access for crypto users, bridging TradFi and DeFi. It suits short-term traders and global retail users, though tokenized stocks provide only "synthetic" exposure rather than direct ownership. Through our partnership with Ondo Finance, Bitget currently offers more than 100 tokenized U.S. stocks (such as Apple, Tesla, and Nvidia) and ETFs, with plans to expand to over 1000. This feature is now available in the 'Stocks' section of Bitget Wallet and on Bitget Onchain, where you can trade directly using stablecoins such as USDC.

Step 1: Sign up on Bitget and complete identity verification

2. Use the Sign Up button to create an account with your email or phone number. Set a password and enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for added security.
3. Complete identity verification: Upload your identity document (such as an ID card or passport) along with a selfie. Identity verification usually takes a few minutes to a few hours, and it is required before you can trade Onchain tokens.
4. New users can enjoy welcome gifts, such as first deposit incentives and trading vouchers.
Step 2: Deposit USDC and transfer it to your Bitget spot account
Bitget Onchain uses USDC as the settlement currency, so you'll need to deposit USDC first.
1. Log in to your account, go to Assets or Wallet, and select Add Funds.
2. Choose USDC from the coin list. Bitget supports TRC20, ERC20, and other networks. Copy the deposit address or scan the QR code to transfer USDC from your wallet or another exchange.
3. Deposits go to your spot account by default:
● App: Select Assets > Transfer, enter the amount, and click Confirm.
● Website: Click the wallet icon (top right) > Transfer, enter the amount, then click Confirm.
4. Ensure you have enough balance in your account. We recommend starting with at least 100 USDC to cover transaction fees.
Step 3: Access the Onchain page and choose a stock trading pair
1. Go to the Onchain trading page:
● App: Tap the Stocks shortcut on the home screen. Alternatively, go to Markets, then find the tab Stocks under Onchain.
● Web: Click Trade in the navigation bar, then select Onchain > Stocks.
2. Use the search bar to enter the ticker symbol of the U.S. stocks you want to trade (e.g., SPYon ).
3. Once you've selected a trading pair, you'll see its real-time price, candlestick chart, and order book. These assets are tokenized stocks from Ondo Finance and are pegged to their U.S. stock counterparts.
Step 4: Place and manage orders
1. Limit order: Set a specific price and quantity. The order enters the order book and is executed once the market price reaches your target. Bitget supports zero-gas limit orders.
2. Enter quantity: Adjust your position size based on your available funds.
4. Hit Buy or Sell to place the order. After the order is placed, you can view the order details in the Orders tab.
