Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission warns LonShiX and Bitbank (Global) of suspected virtual asset fraud
On December 20th, the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong warned the public to beware of entities operating under the names "LonShiX" and "Bitbank (Global) Financial Holding Group" for suspected fraud related to virtual assets. The Hong Kong Police responded to the SFC's request and took action to block the websites of LonShiX and Bitbank (Global) Financial Holding Group, as well as their related X accounts.
The SFC noted that LonShiX claimed on its website that its address is in Hong Kong, but this address is false. LonShiX enticed investors to open investment accounts by falsely claiming to be investment professionals recognized by banks through social media platforms and instant messaging apps. The name used by Bitbank (Global) Financial Holding Group is very similar to that of a Japanese cryptocurrency exchange, but in fact, the two are not related.
