OpenAI's "Sky" AI Voice Taken Down After Resembling Scarlett Johansson's Character in "Her"
OpenAI has removed its ChatGPT-4o AI voice "Sky" following claims that it sounded like Scarlett Johansson's character in the movie "Her". Johansson confirmed that OpenAI had approached her for the project, but she declined. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman stated that they had hired an actress who was not meant to sound like Johansson, but it appears that they aimed to replicate the convincing conversational AI from "Her". The pursuit of creating a "Samantha-like" AI raises concerns about potential psychological threats and the focus on emulating dystopian sci-fi concepts rather than addressing real-world problems is a flaw in OpenAI's approach.
