Organization: There is room for fluctuation in the U.S. interest rate market
Charudatta Shende, a fixed income strategist at the American investment management company Candriam, stated in a webinar that Candriam has taken a cautious stance on the U.S. interest rate market. He said: "We believe that interest rates may rise, and this will be accompanied by considerable volatility." He indicated that President-elect Trump's policies would put upward pressure on inflation and support economic growth, although tariffs would alleviate this pressure to some extent. However, he added that the outlook for U.S. fiscal policy is still unclear at present.
