Andrew Tate’s DADDY meme coin experienced a 80% price surge after reports confirmed that he and his brother Tristan had boarded a private jet to Florida. This marks the first time Tate has been allowed to leave Romania since his arrest in December 2022.
According to reports from the BBC and Financial Times, the Romanian Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) lifted the Tate brothers’ travel restrictions, but confirmed that the criminal proceedings against them will continue. The two were previously charged with human trafficking, sexual misconduct, money laundering, and organizing a criminal group, allegations they deny.
BREAKING: The Tate brothers have left Romania, according to reports.
It comes after the Donald Trump’s administration reportedly made multiple attempts to pressurise Romania to lift travel restrictions on Andrew and Tristan Tate.

Market Reaction to the News
As soon as the news spread, DADDY , a Solana-based meme coin launched by Tate, saw a rapid market cap increase from $22.1 million to $37.5 million in just 10 hours. The coin later retraced 8.5%, settling at $34.4 million, according to DexScreener.
DADDY was created in response to the MOTHER token, launched by rapper Iggy Azalea. Tate, known for his controversial remarks, had previously stated his goal was to “flip it for the patriarchy.” In June 2024, DADDY surpassed MOTHER, solidifying its place among trending meme coins.
Tate’s Travel Ban and U.S. Government Involvement
Tate’s departure follows reported U.S. government involvement. According to the Financial Times, American officials raised concerns about the case during a call with Romanian authorities, and an envoy sent by Donald Trump’s team later met with Romania’s foreign minister Emil Hurezeanu. While the minister denied any direct pressure, he confirmed that Tate’s case was discussed.
Despite being able to travel, Tate still faces ongoing legal battles. In addition to the Romanian case, he is subject to a British arrest warrant related to rape and sexual assault allegations and a civil tax evasion claim in the UK.
