Musk: Will Still Be Tesla CEO for the Next Five Years
Musk said he promised to serve as CEO of Tesla within five years, easing some investors' concerns about his level of commitment to the car manufacturer. Speaking remotely at the Qatar Economic Forum in Doha on Tuesday, Musk discussed the future of Tesla. He criticized a judge in the Delaware Chancery Court who had twice ruled invalid the massive compensation package awarded to him by Tesla in 2018, but said he did not believe this issue would affect his decision to continue in his role. Musk said, "Compensation should match extraordinary achievements, but I am confident that whatever decision a judge in Delaware makes will not affect future compensation arrangements." Musk also said there is no conflict of interest between the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and his business.
