U.S. initial jobless claims rise to 263,000, rate cut expectations already priced in
ChainCatcher news, according to Golden Ten Data, the number of initial jobless claims in the United States increased significantly by 27,000 last week, reaching 263,000, higher than the previous value of 236,000 and the expected value of 235,000. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics pointed out that non-farm employment figures may have been overstated by 911,000, with employment growth in August almost stagnating, and the number of jobs in June decreasing for the first time in four and a half years. The Federal Reserve is expected to cut interest rates by 25 basis points next week, and the market has fully priced this in.
