Wattlet officially debuts: Making electricity a global digital asset
Wattlet's vision is to make electricity not just a consumed energy, but a digital asset that can be held, allocated, and traded.
Recently, Wattlet was officially launched. As an innovative platform supported by the Tellus ecosystem, Wattlet’s vision is to transform electricity from a consumable energy source into a digital asset that can be held, allocated, and traded.
In Wattlet’s design, users can not only participate in the staking and payment of electricity assets through “electricity tokens,” but also invest across borders in other regions’ electricity markets. For example, electricity prices in various European countries fluctuate significantly—between day and night, summer and winter, prices often differ by more than double. With Wattlet, these differences are no longer just a local cost issue for residents, but create clear and visible arbitrage opportunities for global investors.
Notably, Wattlet will issue corresponding KWT series tokens (electricity tokens) in different countries and regions based on local electricity prices. These tokens are not only pegged to actual electricity prices, but will also serve as the “currency” and core link between the Wattlet platform and its ecosystem applications, enabling true cross-platform and cross-regional liquidity of energy assets. This mechanism achieves, for the first time, a complete closed loop from “holding electricity assets” to “real payment and usage,” endowing electricity certificates with financial attributes and the possibility of cross-border flow.
According to reports, Wattlet will officially launch its application in Q4 2025, allowing users to directly invest, trade, stake, and even pay electricity bills through the app, experiencing the brand-new “energy on-chain” ecosystem firsthand. At the same time, Wattlet will also issue its platform token (TGE) in Q4, bringing more anticipation to the market and community.
The launch of Wattlet marks a new stage in “energy on-chain.” As an important exploration of energy financialization, Wattlet not only takes a key step in integrating energy with Web3, but also, through the KWT series tokens and the upcoming TGE, opens up more possibilities for the global energy market.
