US dollar tumbles as investors grow cautious amid rising uncertainties
Dollar Struggles Amid Policy Uncertainty
The US dollar faced continued instability on Thursday, as lingering doubts about American economic strategies and global tensions weighed heavily on the currency. Although reassuring statements from both the White House and European leaders provided some relief after the dollar’s recent plunge, they were not enough to fully restore confidence.
Regarding monetary policy, the Federal Reserve adopted a more optimistic outlook on the nation’s employment situation and inflation risks during its latest update. This led many investors to believe that interest rates may remain unchanged for an extended period.
Earlier in the week, the dollar experienced a sharp decline, reaching its lowest point in four years. This drop followed remarks from President Donald Trump, who appeared unconcerned about the currency’s depreciation. However, the dollar managed to stabilize somewhat after these events.
