The constituent stocks generally closed lower, with Harmony Gold (HAR.SJ) down 11.07%, Gold Fields (GFI) down 5.74%, Sibanye Stillwater down 4.96%, Valterra Platinum down 4.38%, AngloGold Ashanti (ANG) down 3.73%, Northam Platinum down 3.22% as the sixth largest decliner. Anglo American (AGL) closed up 0.97% as the third best performer, Sasol (SOL) rose 4.63%, and OUTsurance Group rose 4.87%. The SEMDEX index of the Mauritius Stock Exchange closed up 0.02%, the All Share Index of the Nigerian Stock Exchange closed down 0.09%, and the Nairobi All Share Index of the Kenya Stock Exchange closed up 0.73%.
