Crypto used to live on crypto exchanges. Stocks belonged with brokers. Gold and oil were traded through commodity platforms, while forex had its own world of terminals, currency pairs and margin accounts.

Bitget’s Universal Exchange, or UEX, is built around a different idea: what if those markets did not have to remain separate?

As Bitget marks its 8th anniversary in 2026, UEX now spans cryptocurrencies and onchain assets, stocks and tokenized equities, ETFs, forex, gold and other precious metals, commodities, global indices and selected pre-IPO opportunities. Users can access these markets through products including spot trading, rToken, Stock+, perpetual futures, options and CFDs, with USDT-based settlement, unified account infrastructure and AI tools increasingly connecting the experience.

The scale of that transition is already showing in trading activity. At peak, non-crypto assets accounted for 40% of Bitget’s total trading volume. TradFi perpetuals and CFDs have each surpassed $10 billion in daily volume, while rToken has recorded more than 3 million cumulative transactions. One in four new Bitget users now begins their journey with rToken.

UEX is therefore not simply about putting a few stock or gold products next to Bitcoin.

It is about bringing markets that traditionally required different accounts, currencies and trading systems into one increasingly connected ecosystem.

What Markets Does Bitget UEX Cover?

At its eighth anniversary, the main markets within the Bitget UEX ecosystem include:

  • Cryptocurrencies

  • Native onchain tokens

  • U.S. stocks and other equity-linked markets

  • Tokenized stocks

  • ETFs

  • Gold and other precious metals

  • Forex

  • Commodities

  • Global stock indices

  • Selected pre-IPO opportunities

  • Tokenized real-world assets

There is an important distinction, however, between an asset class and the product used to trade it.

Stocks, crypto, commodities and forex are markets or asset categories. rToken, Stock+, perpetual futures, CFDs and options are different products or instruments through which users can access those markets.

That distinction is central to understanding UEX.

Bitget is not offering one universal instrument. It is building a universal environment where different markets can be accessed in different ways depending on how a user wants to trade.

Crypto and Onchain Assets: Where UEX Begins

Crypto remains the foundation.

Bitget’s ecosystem continues to support conventional centralized trading across crypto spot and derivatives, including major assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum and a much broader range of altcoins.

UEX then extends beyond the traditional CEX model through Bitget Onchain, giving users access to native onchain assets from supported blockchain networks without requiring the same workflow as moving between a centralized exchange and multiple external decentralized applications.

The original UEX blueprint describes this combination as part of asset universality, bringing centralized liquidity together with broader onchain market access. Bitget’s wider ecosystem has been described as providing access to more than 2 million crypto tokens across centralized and onchain environments.

That means UEX does not represent Bitget moving away from crypto.

It represents Bitget building outward from crypto.

Bitcoin, altcoins, futures and onchain tokens form one side of the system. Stocks, commodities, currencies and other global assets expand what can happen around them.

Stocks: From Tokenized Equities to Real U.S. Shares

Stocks have become one of the most important pillars of Bitget’s UEX expansion.

But there is no single “Bitget stock product.”

By its eighth anniversary, users can access equity markets through several different structures.

1. rToken: Crypto-Native Stock Exposure

Bitget rToken, issued through Reality, brings tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs into a crypto-native environment.

Examples include tokenized exposure to companies and funds such as NVIDIA, Apple, Tesla, SPY and QQQ, depending on current product availability.

rToken allows eligible users to trade stock-linked assets using crypto-native settlement while supported tokens can also gain additional utility across areas such as collateral, margin and other Bitget products.

That makes rToken more than a stock-price tracker sitting beside crypto.

It starts to turn equity exposure into usable capital inside a broader digital-asset ecosystem.

The product has also grown quickly. rToken crossed $100 million in AUM within five weeks, later exceeded 3 million cumulative transactions, and the latest eighth-anniversary figures put the broader rToken product universe at 1,000+ assets.

2. Stock+: Direct U.S. Stock Trading

For users who want actual U.S. shares rather than tokenized equity exposure, Bitget also offers Stock+.

Eligible users can buy, sell and hold real U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs through licensed brokerage infrastructure while funding the experience from the Bitget ecosystem.

Stock+ currently provides access to more than 10,000 U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs, fractional holdings from as little as 0.0001 shares, and trading across pre-market, regular, after-hours and overnight sessions.

The distinction is important:

  • rToken provides tokenized, crypto-native equity exposure.

  • Stock+ provides direct U.S. stock and ETF access.

UEX puts both models in the same broader ecosystem instead of forcing every user into a single way of accessing equities.

3. Stock Perpetuals and Options

Active traders have additional routes.

Stock perpetual futures allow users to trade the price movements of selected equities with USDT margin, long and short positioning and leverage according to applicable product rules.

U.S. stock options add another layer. Bitget supports options across 540+ U.S. stocks, alongside major index and ETF options, giving eligible traders tools for directional strategies, hedging and more advanced portfolio management.

Put together, the UEX equity stack includes:

  • Tokenized stocks

  • Real U.S. stocks

  • ETFs

  • Stock perpetual futures

  • U.S. stock options

  • Quanto contracts linked to additional equity markets

That is much broader than simply adding “stocks” to a crypto exchange.

Gold, Silver and Precious Metals: Crypto Meets Macro

Gold has become one of the clearest examples of why UEX exists.

Crypto traders and gold traders may follow very different markets, but both can react to many of the same forces: interest rates, inflation, geopolitical risk, U.S. dollar moves and broader changes in investor risk appetite.

Traditionally, acting on both markets could mean maintaining a crypto exchange account and a separate commodity or CFD account.

Bitget brings them closer together.

Through its TradFi ecosystem, users can gain exposure to gold, silver and other precious-metal markets while operating alongside their crypto positions.

Tokenized products add another access route. Assets such as XAUT bring gold exposure into tokenized infrastructure, illustrating how the same underlying asset can increasingly be reached through both traditional-market and blockchain-based structures.

The shift has already changed trading behavior. During Q1 2026, commodity-linked activity led by gold rose from almost zero at the beginning of the year to as much as 20% to 40% of platform activity on multiple days by the end of March.

That is significant because it shows UEX being used as more than a theoretical multi-asset model.

When market conditions change, users are beginning to rotate between asset classes inside the same ecosystem.

Forex: Global Currency Markets Meet USDT

Foreign exchange is another core UEX market.

Through Bitget TradFi, users can access currency markets alongside crypto, equities and commodities using a USDT-centered trading structure.

That removes one of the most obvious sources of friction in traditional multi-market trading: constantly moving money between different accounts and settlement currencies.

For a crypto-native user, the workflow becomes much more familiar.

Instead of withdrawing capital from a crypto platform, converting it into fiat, funding another brokerage account and then trading FX, eligible users can access supported currency markets through the same wider Bitget ecosystem.

The demand for that structure appears in user research as well. In Bitget’s 2026 asset-allocation study, 71% of surveyed users identified USDT settlement as the most important UEX feature, while 65% prioritized the ability to move quickly between crypto, equities, forex and commodities within one account. The study surveyed more than 6,000 users globally.

That is one of the simplest ways to understand UEX.

The market changes. The account does not have to.

Commodities: From Crude Oil to Copper

Gold may receive the most attention, but Bitget’s commodity coverage extends further.

Depending on live product availability and regional eligibility, users can access markets linked to assets including:

  • Gold

  • Silver

  • Crude oil

  • Brent crude

  • Natural gas

  • Copper

  • Other commodity-linked instruments

These markets are generally accessed through products such as TradFi perpetual contracts and CFDs rather than physical commodity ownership.

That distinction is important.

Buying a CFD linked to crude oil does not mean a barrel of oil is sitting somewhere under the user’s name. It means the product provides exposure to movements in the underlying market according to the applicable contract structure.

As of Bitget’s eighth anniversary, commodity markets have become a meaningful part of the broader UEX business. The latest anniversary figures show TradFi perpetuals and CFDs each exceeding $10 billion in daily trading volume, with activity spanning equities, gold, crude oil and forex.

The latest product breadth is also substantial, with 300+ TradFi instruments and nearly 100 CFD pairs across the ecosystem.

Global Indices: Trading the Market, Not Just One Company

Sometimes the opportunity is not one stock.

It is the whole market.

Bitget TradFi also provides exposure to global stock indices, allowing traders to take views on broader equity markets rather than selecting individual companies.

Index exposure can be particularly useful when a market-wide event matters more than company-specific news.

A trader may have a view on technology stocks broadly, the U.S. market, European equities or another regional benchmark. Index-linked products provide a way to trade that theme without selecting every constituent individually.

Within UEX, supported index markets sit beside crypto, commodities, stocks and FX rather than requiring another standalone trading environment.

Bitget’s September 2026 CFD API expansion also extended programmatic access across gold, forex, stock indices and crude oil alongside crypto, making the multi-asset structure increasingly relevant to quantitative and algorithmic traders as well.

ETFs: Diversified Markets Inside UEX

ETFs add another important layer.

Rather than buying one company, an ETF can provide exposure to a basket of securities, an index, a sector or another investment theme.

Bitget supports ETF exposure through multiple parts of its ecosystem.

Stock+ provides access to real U.S.-listed ETFs, while rToken includes tokenized ETF exposure. Options are also available on selected major ETFs and indices.

This gives users different ways to approach diversified equity exposure:

  • Direct ETF ownership through Stock+

  • Tokenized ETF exposure through rToken

  • Options strategies on supported ETFs

Again, the UEX model is less about one product replacing another and more about giving different trading styles access to the same broader market universe.

Pre-IPO Opportunities: UEX Moves Before the Public Market

Most multi-asset platforms begin and end with publicly traded markets.

Bitget has pushed UEX one step earlier through IPO Prime.

Launched in April 2026, IPO Prime introduced access to tokenized pre-IPO opportunities tied to global private companies, with SpaceX serving as the first major launch. The subscription-based structure gives eligible users access to exposure traditionally associated with private-capital and institutional networks.

This adds another dimension to the UEX concept.

Crypto covers digital-native assets.

Stock+ and rToken cover public equities in different forms.

IPO Prime extends the model toward opportunities before a company even reaches the public stock market.

That means Bitget is not only expanding horizontally across asset classes. It is also exploring different stages of the capital-market lifecycle.

Where Do Tokenized RWAs Fit?

Real-world assets, or RWAs, deserve a little clarification.

Tokenization itself is not necessarily a separate asset class.

Instead, it can act as a bridge that brings an existing asset class into blockchain-based infrastructure.

For example:

  • A tokenized Apple stock remains fundamentally equity-linked exposure.

  • A tokenized S&P 500 ETF remains fund exposure.

  • A tokenized gold product remains linked to precious metals.

This distinction makes the UEX architecture easier to understand.

Traditional assets do not need to stop being stocks, ETFs or gold simply because they become tokenized.

Tokenization changes how they can be accessed, transferred or used, not necessarily what economic exposure they represent.

That is why rToken and other RWA products play such an important role in UEX. They help make previously separated markets more compatible with crypto-native infrastructure.

How Does Bitget UEX Connect All These Markets?

A long list of tradable markets alone would not make an exchange universal.

The harder part is connecting them.

Bitget’s UEX model increasingly does that through several layers.

1. One Broader Account Environment

Users can move between crypto and supported traditional-market products without managing a completely separate platform for every asset class.

2. USDT and Stablecoin-Based Infrastructure

USDT-based margin and settlement reduce the need to repeatedly enter and exit fiat currencies when switching between supported markets.

3. Unified Trading Account

Bitget’s UTA infrastructure brings eligible assets into a shared trading and collateral framework.

That means capital held in one supported asset can potentially become useful elsewhere rather than sitting isolated in a separate account.

4. APIs for Multi-Asset Trading

The same convergence is extending to professional traders.

CFD Open API support now brings markets such as gold, forex, stock indices and crude oil into programmatic workflows alongside crypto.

5. AI as a Trading Interface

GetAgent and AI Playbook add another layer.

As the number of available markets grows, finding, analyzing and acting on opportunities can become more complicated. AI tools are designed to reduce that friction by helping users research markets and translate trading ideas into structured workflows.

This is where UEX becomes more ambitious than a simple product menu.

The goal is not just to put more markets in one app. It is to make those markets easier to move between, easier to use together and increasingly accessible through the same trading infrastructure.

Bitget UEX at 8: How Big Has the Multi-Asset Shift Become?

Bitget’s eighth anniversary provides some of the clearest evidence yet that users are actually moving across the broader market universe.

By September 2026:

  • Non-crypto assets reached as much as 40% of total trading volume at peak

  • TradFi perpetuals surpassed $10 billion in daily volume

  • CFDs surpassed $10 billion in daily volume

  • rToken exceeded 3 million cumulative transactions

  • 1 in 4 new users began their Bitget journey with rToken

  • rToken coverage reached 1,000+ assets

  • TradFi expanded to 300+ instruments

  • CFDs covered nearly 100 pairs

Direct U.S. equity access has expanded further through Stock+, with 10,000+ U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs available to eligible users, while U.S. stock options cover 540+ stocks plus major index and ETF options.

The numbers matter because they show the difference between announcing a multi-asset strategy and actually building one.

Crypto is still central to Bitget.

But it is no longer the boundary.

Bitget at 8: One Account, a Much Bigger Market

Eight years ago, the idea of trading Bitcoin, U.S. equities, gold, forex, oil and tokenized private-market opportunities through the same crypto-native ecosystem would have sounded unusually ambitious.

By Bitget’s eighth anniversary, much of that structure is already taking shape.

UEX now reaches across crypto, onchain assets, equities, ETFs, precious metals, forex, commodities, indices, tokenized RWAs and selected pre-IPO markets.

Users can access those markets through different tools depending on what they want to achieve: spot trading, rToken, Stock+, futures, options, CFDs and other products.

But the real shift is what happens between them.

A trader can follow Bitcoin and gold through the same ecosystem. A crypto holder can explore U.S. stocks without starting from an entirely separate financial world. Tokenized equities can increasingly become part of broader collateral strategies. Professional traders can connect APIs to both crypto and global CFD markets. AI can sit across the experience and help users navigate an increasingly large market universe.

That is what makes the Universal Exchange idea different from simply adding another product tab.

Crypto built the foundation. UEX is opening the rest of the market.
