Ethereum L2 chain Linea was attacked by hackers on Velocore, causing it to stop producing blocks and temporarily suspend the sorter's operation.
In response, SlowMist founder Yu Xian wrote on X platform: "To stop oneself and blacklist the L2 with relevant addresses for a project being attacked by black-stop loss, this choice can be understood in the early stage, but it is increasingly impossible as time goes on. The challenge of security and trust is so great."
Yesterday, Linea released an update on the Velocore incident on the X platform, stating that the current network security only affects third-party DApps. Linea suspended the sorter's operation because it was unable to contact the Velocore team temporarily during the attack on Velocore.
Linea emphasized: "Most L2s, including Linea, still rely on centralized technical operations, which can be used to protect ecosystem participants. Linea's core value is an unlicensed and uncensored environment, so our decision was not made lightly."
