The World Foundation has recently completed a $135 million funding round for its World Network project, involving direct sales of WLD tokens. Andreessen Horowitz and Bain Capital led the investment, marking another milestone for the biometric identity platform.

Sam Altman, OpenAI’s CEO, founded the World Network, formerly known as Worldcoin. The project, managed by World Assets Ltd., aims to enhance its global biometric identity solutions, expanding its reach across multiple regions.
WLD token saw a price increase following the announcement, with some reports indicating a 31% rise , as it became one of the top cryptocurrency gainers. The funding is part of a broader strategy for global expansion.
The capital infusion will support the World Network’s global expansion by scaling its biometric devices infrastructure, increasing the Orbs count from 1,600 to 9,100 by 2025. The fund will also introduce innovations in biometric identity tech.
