Christopher Hui: Settlement Cycle for Hong Kong’s Tokenized Green Bonds Shortened to T+1, Hopes for Wider Adoption

According to a report by Jinse Finance, Hong Kong Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Christopher Hui stated that the settlement cycle for the government-issued tokenized green bonds has been shortened from the fifth business day after the transaction (T+5) to T+1. Tokenization has improved the speed of fund transfers and transaction efficiency. Digital assets and their underlying blockchain technology can reduce transaction friction costs, and tokenization can further enhance the speed and efficiency of fund transfers. He hopes these advantages can be widely adopted and integrated with the real economy.
