Cardano sees high adoption after Glacier distributes NIGHT for free
- Free NIGHT distribution expands adoption in the Cardano ecosystem
- Cryptocurrencies attract organic users without marketing effort
- ADA Price Increase Follows Trump Executive Order Influence
Charles Hoskinson, founder of Input Output Global (IOG), expressed enthusiasm for the launch of Glacier—the free distribution of the NIGHT token, native to the Midnight network, built on Cardano. According to him, the initiative resulted in a significant increase in new registrations in the ecosystem, driven by organic interest, without relying on large marketing campaigns. "Impressive," Hoskinson said when commenting on the initial results.

According to data released by the executive, 35.602 redemptions have been made to date, totaling approximately 739,5 million NIGHT, equivalent to 3,08% of the total supply. Cardano leads the distribution, concentrating 63% of the tokens, ahead of other participating networks.
Earlier in the week, another milestone had already been celebrated: more than 11.000 redemptions representing 250 million NIGHTs. For Hoskinson, this progress is proof of the community's high engagement and the potential of the new network.
The movement around Glacier also impacted the ADA token. In the last 24 hours, the asset rose 3,89%, rising from $0,7812 to $0,8190. Since Wednesday, the accumulated appreciation has reached 13,61%, following the momentum generated by current US President Donald Trump's executive order allowing corporate retirement accounts to invest in cryptocurrencies.
What is Midnight
Midnight is a blockchain designed to offer privacy and security when using cryptocurrencies, operating seamlessly with the Cardano network. Its technology is based on zero-knowledge proofs (ZK-proofs), which allow information to be validated without exposing sensitive data, whether personal, corporate, or financial.
This framework enables the development of decentralized applications (dApps) that meet regulatory compliance requirements while preserving user confidentiality. Compatible with widely used languages such as TypeScript, Midnight aims to facilitate the creation of solutions for sectors that require high levels of protection, such as finance, healthcare, and digital identity.
