Boundless unlocks Bitcoin settlement and verification capabilities for Ethereum and Base through ZK proofs
Jinse Finance reported that Boundless has launched a cross-chain verification system, enabling zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs generated on Ethereum mainnet and the Base Layer 2 network to be verified and finally settled on Bitcoin. This solution is based on BitVM and Boundless's ZK network, allowing Bitcoin to serve as the ultimate verification and settlement layer for high-computation ZK proofs without requiring any modifications to the Bitcoin protocol. Boundless stated that this does not turn Bitcoin "into Ethereum," but rather allows Bitcoin to provide security endorsement for Ethereum-style execution. The system also integrates Bitcoin-native ZK Rollup Citrea, and will expand to more chains and ecosystems in the future, promoting Bitcoin as a shared security layer for a broader blockchain system.
