Waiting until after an earnings report to buy a stock can reduce some of the risk around the event. If shares gap lower, you avoid the damage. And if they rise, the gains can continue in the days and weeks ahead.

Could AST SpaceMobile track the price action of Voyager Technologies, a high-growth, space-themed peer, which gapped sharply higher after earnings last week and continued to gain in the sessions that followed?

Looking at today's updated price action, the muted reaction is particularly noteworthy given that the options market was pricing in earnings move of roughly 14%. As of late Tuesday morning, the stock was essentially unchanged. With ASTS missing on both revenue and EPS in Monday's after-hours report, avoiding a material decline should be viewed as a bullish sign.

We previously discussed the bearish island reversal that marked the May 29 top following a gap lower, as well as the bullish island reversal that I believe called the Aug. 4 low after an 11% gap higher. Adding to the constructive setup, another doji formed on Aug. 5, suggesting that selling pressure may be nearing an end.

At a minimum, the current setup provides an attractive risk/reward opportunity on the long side, with a clearly defined level to manage risk. I continue to believe the stock could reach $125 by year-end. Remain bullish above $67.

AST SpaceMobile was trading around $70 on Tuesday.

Voyager Technologies, a space play with a defense component, has delivered a strong run since reporting earnings last week. The stock is up 64% year to date and is currently riding an impressive eight-session winning streak, a feat it has achieved only once before in its relatively brief history as a publicly traded company, back in December 2025.

Looking at the daily chart, Voyager has shown strong relative performance on the ratio chart against the Procure Space ETF since the start of June. The stock's momentum accelerated with a powerful 20% earnings-driven gap higher on Aug. 4, marking its third consecutive positive earnings reaction.

The gap also pushed Voyager above its $37.02 double-bottom pivot, further strengthening the technical picture. Round-number theory came into play around the $50 level as the base began to form, while two doji candles on May 26 and June 1 hinted that a pullback could be developing. More recently, a bullish harami formed on July 30, and the stock has not declined since.

Given the sharp recent advance, I would look to enter on a pullback toward $42. I believe the stock could reach $67 by year-end, representing 56% upside from current prices. Remain bullish above $38.

Voyager Technologies was trading around $43 on Tuesday.
