Anfield Energy Completes Underground Blast at the Velvet-Wood Uranium-Vanadium Project

09:12 AM EDT, 08/27/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Anfield Energy (AEC.V) on Thursday said it completed its first underground blast at the Velvet-Wood uranium-vanadium project in Utah. It marked the first underground blast conducted at the project in nearly 40 years, the mining company said Thursday. Anfield said it has rehabilitated the first 700 feet of the mine's decline while also progressing construction of the water treatment plant and installation of a dewatering pump. Velvet-Wood, which last produced in 1984, is a key part of Anfield's strategy centered on the Shootaring Canyon mill, the company said. The company's shares closed down C$0.25 to C$6.48 Wednesday on the TSX Venture Exchange.
