XRP and Solana are seeing fresh institutional flows, while HYPE remains a high-beta DeFi play as capital rotates toward stronger-performing crypto assets.
Bitcoin’s price rally is reshaping the crypto capital rotation trade, with whale activity showing where large holders are positioning beyond BTC. While Bitcoin remains the core institutional asset, Ethereum, Solana, XRP and Hyperliquid are attracting fresh attention as traders seek stronger relative performance and higher-beta opportunities. The latest market data shows a split in positioning: whales continue buying Bitcoin on weakness while selective capital moves into altcoins with stronger momentum and clearer catalysts.
Ethereum Attracts Heavy Whale Positioning
Ethereum is emerging as the leading large-cap alternative for fresh crypto risk exposure. A whale recently opened an approximately $44.85 million ETH perpetual long using 25x leverage, while another large position remains valued at roughly $107 million. Such positioning places ETH at the center of the current rotation, particularly as traders look for an asset with substantial liquidity and higher upside beta than Bitcoin.
Ethereum is also showing stronger buy-side activity in tracked market flows. The combination of large-wallet positioning, derivatives exposure and improving relative performance makes ETH one of the clearest assets to monitor as Bitcoin consolidates. The rising leverage also creates a near-term risk: if ETH fails to sustain its momentum, highly leveraged positions could amplify downside volatility.
Solana Draws $10.45M Whale Bet
Solana is attracting capital further up the risk curve. One whale recently opened a 100,000 SOL long position worth approximately $10.45 million with 20x leverage after previously generating substantial gains from an ETH trade. The transaction provides a clear example of capital being redeployed between major crypto assets toward a higher-beta opportunity. SOL’s relative strength has made it one of the market’s most closely watched large-cap altcoins, and the whale positioning adds another layer to the bullish case.
Institutional-style flows are also supporting the rotation thesis, with Solana recording approximately $28.34 million in weekly investment-product inflows. For the current market structure, SOL combines two important signals: large-holder exposure and positive capital flows.
XRP Records $39.78M in Weekly Inflows
XRP is attracting a significant share of capital through investment products. The token recorded approximately $39.78 million in weekly net inflows, exceeding the corresponding flows for several other major altcoins. Solana followed with approximately $28.34 million, while Chainlink and Hyperliquid also registered positive flows.
XRP’s position in the rotation differs from ETH and SOL. Its demand is tied more closely to its institutional adoption and payments narrative, giving investors a separate catalyst from the broader smart-contract and DeFi trade. The flow data makes XRP one of the more important assets to watch if capital continues moving beyond Bitcoin.
HYPE Represents the Higher-Beta Rotation
Hyperliquid’s HYPE token sits further along the risk spectrum. Its exposure to on-chain derivatives and decentralized trading infrastructure has made HYPE a prominent DeFi asset during periods of elevated crypto risk appetite. HYPE has also attracted positive investment-product flows, although at a smaller scale than XRP and SOL. That makes it a higher-risk rotation candidate rather than a direct competitor to Bitcoin or Ethereum.
ETH and SOL represent liquid large-cap exposure, XRP offers a distinct institutional narrative, while HYPE provides higher-beta DeFi exposure. If Bitcoin stabilizes, the market can support both BTC accumulation and selective altcoin positioning. If BTC loses its key support structure, leveraged altcoin exposure could unwind quickly.
Where Could Whale Capital Move Next?
The current data points to a selective capital rotation across crypto, with Bitcoin retaining its role as the core allocation while ETH, SOL and XRP capture incremental demand. Ethereum has the strongest visible large-cap whale positioning, Solana is attracting aggressive leveraged exposure, and XRP is showing notable investment-product inflows. HYPE represents a higher-beta DeFi opportunity. The next phase will depend on Bitcoin’s ability to hold its post-rally structure; sustained BTC stability would give altcoins more room to extend their relative gains, while a deeper BTC correction could force capital back into defensive positions.
