XRP’s Price Could Rise to $1.60 or Drop to $0.80 as Upcoming CLARITY Act Vote and Fed Rate Decision Loom
XRP’s price (XRP-USD) is trading near $1.40, but traders expect a sharp swing up toward $1.60 or down toward $0.80 depending on how the Senate votes on the upcoming CLARITY Act. Analysts see a baseline target range of $1.20 to $1.40 if trading stays within recent limits.
Furthermore, the Senate holds a cloture vote on the CLARITY Act on September 15, needing 60 votes to open the bill for debate. The Federal Reserve follows with its interest rate decision on September 16.
Large XRP ETF Inflows Contrast with XRP’s Flat Price Moves
Spot XRP funds saw $110.49 million in net buying during the final week of August, marking the best weekly total of the year. Even with those large cash inflows, XRP price barely moved, hovering around $1.40 during that span.

Crypto leaders and lawmakers continue to push for clear rules. Ripple’s chief legal officer described the CLARITY Act as a consumer protection bill. Senator Thom Tillis also encouraged committee leaders to move the bill forward.
XRP’s Price Could Move in Either Direction Depending on the Vote’s Outcome
If the vote passes on September 15 and the Fed keeps interest rates stable, XRP could rise toward $1.40 to $1.60, aligning near its 200-day moving average. If the vote gets delayed, XRP price could stay in its established base range between $1.00 and $1.20.
If the vote fails and the Fed hikes interest rates, XRP price could drop toward $0.80 to $0.95, with some exchange models setting a floor near $0.75. A hawkish comment from Fed Chair Kevin Warsh on August 28 previously pushed XRP down to $1.36 and wiped out $488 million in leveraged trades in a single day.
