Dogecoin has drawn renewed market interest following a recovery above several key technical levels. The cryptocurrency is now trading at $0.0874, up 3.15% in the past 24 hours, as traders consider whether the latest upward move can drive further gains toward $0.094, an important resistance level for DOGE.

Technical recovery and key resistance levels
Recent price action has pushed Dogecoin above its 20-day exponential moving average (EMA) at $0.08300, the 50-day EMA at $0.07968, and the 100-day EMA at $0.08189. Trading above these levels has reinforced the short-term bullish trend in the coin’s price trajectory.
The next critical test for DOGE’s recovery will be the 200-day EMA, which stands at $0.09414. Reclaiming this line would confirm a stronger bullish swing, while failing to break above it may signal a return to support near earlier EMA levels.
The Relative Strength Index (RSI) over 14 days is now at 59.72, with an average near 62.12. This indicates that bullish momentum remains positive but has not stepped into overbought territory, generally considered to start at 70.
While the RSI reading supports the current recovery, analysts note that RSI has dropped markedly from a recent high above 80. Maintaining upward momentum will be critical for buyers hoping to sustain DOGE’s rebound.
Open interest signals increased volatility
According to derivatives analytics platform CoinGlass, open interest in DOGE reached around $1.5 billion in late August before retreating to $1.3 billion. This metric suggests strong participation from derivatives traders, which can heighten both breakout and reversal potential.
Elevated open interest, combined with the ongoing price recovery, points toward the likelihood of continued volatility in DOGE’s market action.
Coinglass data also highlighted several significant liquidations in recent weeks, especially notable long liquidations during late August and, more recently, short liquidations as the price rebounded. If DOGE maintains prices above the $0.083 mark and further short liquidations occur, this could continue to support the recovery phase.
However, if the price falls back below $0.083, analysts warn that any recovery could lose momentum, putting Dogecoin at risk of a renewed pullback.
| Late August | $1.5 billion | Major volatility | Long positions liquidated |
| Present | $1.3 billion | Recovery phase | Short positions liquidated |
| Key Level: $0.094 | N/A | Bullish confirmation level | Potential breakout/liquidation trigger |
The 200-day EMA at $0.09414 remains the clearest confirmation point for potential continuation of the rally. A breakout over this barrier could shift attention toward new resistance levels, while falling short of it would keep DOGE exposed to the risk of reversal.
Market sentiment and speculative targets
Dogecoin is showing momentum above its short- and medium-term EMAs, but technical indicators do not currently support a surge to $2.80, with the more immediate focus on resistance at $0.094.
Despite positive market tone, technical analysis does not indicate support for speculative high price targets such as $2.80 at present. The spotlight remains fixed on short-term areas of resistance and the influence of derivatives activity on DOGE’s price movements.

In four months, Korean retail investors' "ammunition stockpile" has dropped by 36.5%, returning to levels seen at the beginning of the year. Although retail investors have collectively made net purchases exceeding 75 trillion won, they are still absorbing the sell-off, but the influx of new funds has dried up, and the replenishment rate lags far behind the consumption rate. Combined with the KOSPI plunging nearly 20% this month, continued net selling by foreign investors, and concerns over AI-related credit risks, the Korean stock market may find it difficult to see a sustained rebound in the short term without support from private investors' funds.

The extremely crowded trade of "going long on AI, short on everything else" is undergoing a painful unwinding—markets are no longer satisfied with the "burn rate narrative." Mega-scale cloud providers must deliver real, visible revenue conversions alongside $1.1 trillion in capital expenditures. A power gap of 40-50 gigawatts, rising capital costs, and a macro paradigm shift from an era of "overspending" are turning AI trades from a matter of faith into a harsh test of monetization.
