11:56 AM EDT, 09/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- GE Aerospace (GE) agreed to acquire castings manufacturer Consolidated Precision Products in a deal worth $11.75 billion, as the aerospace giant looks to bolster its castings capacity amid a strong demand environment. GE Aerospace plans to finance the deal with $7 billion in cash and the remaining amount with new debt, the company said Tuesday. Ohio-based Consolidated Precision Products, currently owned by private investment firms Warburg Pincus and Berkshire Partners, manufactures engineered castings and sub-assemblies mainly for the commercial aerospace and defense markets. The company has about 6,600 employees and more than 20 facilities. GE Aerospace said it has been a customer of Consolidated Precision Products for over 15 years. "Investing in mission-critical casting capacity is needed to support the strong simultaneous demand across commercial engines, aftermarket and defense," GE Aerospace Chief Executive H. Lawrence Culp Jr. said in a statement. "We expect to expand capacity, improve performance and accelerate new engine technologies for the current fleet and next-generation platforms." Shares of GE Aerospace were up 0.5% in Tuesday trade, taking their year-to-date gain to about 10%. The transaction, which requires regulatory approval, is expected to close in the second half of next year. The aircraft engine supplier expects the acquisition to be accretive to its adjusted earnings on a per-share basis and free cash flow in the first year. In July, the company raised its full-year adjusted EPS outlook on the back of stronger-than-expected second-quarter results amid a 17% annual jump in orders. "As we advance our position as an industry leader in castings, GE Aerospace has expressed strong enthusiasm for supporting our continued growth and expanded vision," Consolidated Precision Products CEO James Stewart said. "Together, we look forward to delivering meaningful value and advancing the success of both organizations." The deal comes days after SpaceX (SPCX) CEO Elon Musk reportedly said the company plans to manufacture turbine blades and vanes to address power constraints tied to AI data-center expansion. In March 2026, GE Aerospace announced plans to invest another $1 billion in its US manufacturing sites and supplier base this year to speed up engine deliveries and ramp up parts production. The company acquired aerospace component maker Northstar Aerospace in 2025. In the broader industry, aircraft parts maker TransDigm (TDG) completed the purchase of Jet Parts Engineering and Victor Sierra Aviation for about $2.2 billion in April 2026. Last year, drone maker AeroVironment (AVAV) closed the acquisition of defense technology company BlueHalo for $4.1 billion. Price: 339.24, Change: +2.12, Percent Change: +0.63
