Reuters Survey: Most Economists Expect the Federal Reserve to Keep Interest Rates Unchanged in September

According to a Reuters survey, 65 out of 93 economists said that the Federal Reserve will keep the federal funds rate in the 3.50%-3.75% range in September (in the August survey, 94 out of 104 economists expected this). Among the 93 economists, 52 said that the Federal Reserve will maintain the federal funds rate at 3.50%-3.75% in 2026 (in the August survey, 80 out of 104 economists expected this).
