Eric Jackson, founder of EMJ Capital and renowned technology investor, has officially joined the company's advisory board.

According to Zhitong Finance APP, recently, US-listed company SunCar Technology Group Inc. (SDA.US) announced that Eric Jackson, founder of EMJ Capital and well-known technology investor, has officially joined the company’s Advisory Board. Going forward, Eric Jackson will provide professional advisory support to SunCar Technology across three key areas: investor relations optimization, corporate strategy analysis, and international business expansion. This will help the company further open communication channels between the China and US capital markets and amplify the global value of AI motor insurance and smart car services.

Eric Jackson is a highly influential hedge fund manager and financial opinion leader in the North American capital markets, boasting widespread influence among both institutional and US retail investors. He is the founder, president, and portfolio manager of EMJ Capital Ltd., established in Toronto in 2017 and regulated by the Ontario Securities Commission, with credentials as a Restricted Portfolio Manager, Exempt Market Dealer, and Investment Fund Manager. The fund adopts proprietary AI/ML algorithm-driven long/short strategies in technology stocks.

Before founding EMJ Capital, Eric Jackson built a comprehensive track record as an entrepreneur, senior executive, and hedge fund manager. From 2014 to 2016, he served as Managing Director at SpringOwl Event Driven Partners, participating in investments in renowned companies such as Yahoo and Viacom. From 2008 to 2014, he co-founded Ironfire Capital LLC, serving as portfolio manager. Previously, he was President of Jackson Leadership Systems. Between 2000 and 2004, he was Vice President of Business Development at VoiceGenie Technologies, leading two rounds of venture financing and establishing distribution partnerships with leading enterprises such as IBM, Sun, Oracle, Hitachi, and Unisys.

Academically, Eric Jackson holds a PhD in Management from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor’s in English Literature from McGill University. His doctoral thesis focused on the relationship between management and board characteristics, IPO valuation, and post-listing market performance, showcasing a blend of academic research and secondary market expertise.

In terms of media and public influence, Eric Jackson is a regular financial commentator on CNBC and BNN Bloomberg, and has about 116,000 followers on the overseas social platform X. He is well known in the market as the “Carvana hedge fund investor” who made an early bullish call on Carvana (CVNA). He has also attracted attention for his public investment views on Opendoor (OPEN), crypto infrastructure, and Ethereum, being adept at identifying retail-driven growth stock trading opportunities, with his investment framework combining academic research, corporate operational experience, and AI quantitative tools.

Eric Jackson has publicly stated that he has officially joined the Advisory Board of SunCar Technology Group (SDA). SunCar Technology is building a digital services cloud platform for car insurance and the automotive aftermarket in China, connecting directly with automakers to reach end vehicle owners. The company’s car insurance ecosystem already covers more than 20 mainstream electric vehicle brands, including Tesla, NIO, XPeng, Li Auto, Xiaomi, and premium new energy brands under Huawei Qiankun Ecosystem. The company is currently working with ByteDance’s Doubao large language model to co-develop large models for risk pricing and intelligent claims for smart vehicles. “I will primarily provide advisory support in the areas of investor relations, corporate strategy, and international business expansion.”

He further pointed out that a reverse export of innovation models is taking place in the global technology industry. While it was previously believed that Chinese companies were primarily imitators, super-app models pioneered by WeChat and Alipay are now serving as references for US firms like X, Uber, and traditional banks. Similar industry reverse innovation is occurring in the smart auto insurance sector, although the market has yet to fully recognize this. “What attracts me most to SunCar Technology is its unique strategic ecosystem position. The entire industry is still defining the underlying rules for insurance, automotive services, and vehicle data in the era of autonomous driving. It is difficult to find another company, like SunCar Technology, positioned so centrally within the massive smart connected vehicle fleet. The platform has already deeply integrated with Huawei Qiankun’s smart vehicle solution technology base. When cars themselves evolve into service distribution channels, understanding this layer of ecosystem positioning is more important than just reading financial reports.”

As a leading domestic digitalization provider for high-end new energy auto insurance, SunCar Technology continues to deepen AI technology implementation, having built a complete smart auto insurance technology matrix. Leveraging a database of millions of vehicles, the company and Doubao large model are co-developing a dynamic risk assessment large model, establishing independent risk control dimensions for high-value components of new energy vehicles such as advanced autonomous driving, power batteries, and LiDAR, thereby enabling differentiated risk calculations and personalized insurance package matching for different vehicle models. The self-developed smart pricing engine for car insurance and AI-powered intelligent renewal calling system have already been rolled out at scale to Harmony Intelligent Mobility, GAC Empow, and other partners within the Huawei Qiankun Ecosystem, significantly improving the insurance renewal efficiency at automaker stores and reducing operating costs. Offline, relying on more than 48,000 automotive service outlets nationwide, SunCar provides one-stop “insurance + repair & maintenance + assistance + predictive maintenance” services. Through in-vehicle data, the company delivers AI-driven predictive vehicle maintenance reminders, extending insurance from post-incident claims to full life-cycle vehicle management, setting a new benchmark for intelligent new energy vehicle insurance services.

Operationally, the company has achieved its fourth consecutive profitable quarter, forecasting revenue of $271–273 million in the first half of 2026, up 22%-23% year-on-year, and maintaining full-year revenue guidance of $600 million. Renewal business and partnerships with new energy automaker ecosystems serve as core growth drivers, covering over 20 mainstream new energy vehicle companies including Tesla, Xiaomi, NIO, XPeng, Li Auto, Harmony Intelligent Mobility, and GAC Empow.

Ye Zaichang, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SunCar Technology, said: “We warmly welcome Eric Jackson to our Advisory Board. Eric brings hands-on experience with high-tech companies, a rigorous academic research background, hedge fund management experience, and a mature global capital market perspective. As SunCar Technology’s AI-powered auto insurance solution continues to closely integrate with China’s leading new energy vehicle ecosystem, we aim to leverage Eric’s professional expertise to better communicate the innovation logic of China’s intelligent auto insurance industry to overseas capital markets, optimize global investor relations, and assist the company in exploring international business opportunities. SunCar Technology will continue to focus on empowering the auto insurance sector with AI, working closely with Doubao’s large model and the Huawei Qiankun Ecosystem to steadily release business value and create long-term returns for all shareholders.”

Looking ahead, SunCar Technology will continue to solidify its domestic foundation in new energy vehicle insurance and automotive services, iteratively upgrade core products such as AI risk pricing, smart claims, and predictive maintenance. At the same time, with the intellectual support of the Advisory Board, the company will further improve its governance and capital communication, opening up possibilities for long-term growth.

Did the US stock market miss the "good news" right in front of them? Earnings forecasts are unusually upgraded, strategists say: fundamentals are so strong it "doesn't seem real"

Seaport Research Partners believes that the U.S. stock market is facing a significant divergence between corporate earnings and stock performance: second-quarter earnings are strong, and analysts continue to revise expectations upward, but concerns over high interest rates and the sustainability of earnings are suppressing valuations. Sectors such as industrials and transportation may offer mispricing opportunities. However, if the Federal Reserve signals another rate hike, it could still put short-term pressure on the stock market.
