Cineplex Books Record Monthly Box Office Performance in August

08:49 AM EDT, 09/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Cineplex (CGX.TO) recorded box office revenues of 98 million Canadian dollars in August, the strongest monthly box office performance in the company's history. Cineplex's August 2026 box office represents an increase from CA$49.1 million in the same month a year ago, the company said Monday. For the third quarter to date, Cineplex's box office revenues stood at CA$170.6 million, up from CA$121.8 million in the year-ago period. Cineplex said the success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey drove the company's strong performance in August. Cineplex said August capped off its strongest summer box office performance in Cineplex history.
