Sector Update: Energy Stocks Advance Pre-Bell Tuesday

09:19 AM EDT, 09/15/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Energy stocks were advancing pre-bell Tuesday, with the State Street Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) up 0.2%. The United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 0.1% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 2.3% higher. Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was 0.4% higher at $101.78 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil rose 0.1% to $105.76 per barrel, and natural gas futures were up 1.3% at $2.93 per 1 million British Thermal Units. Borr Drilling (BORR) shares were up more than 1% after the company said it has agreed to divest its 51% interest in two oil-drilling Mexican joint ventures to its partner in Mexico. PBF Energy (PBF) and its PBF Finance subsidiary priced $500 million worth of 0% exchangeable notes due 2032 in a private offering, the company said. PBF Energy stock was down more than 2% premarket. TotalEnergies (TTE) and Mistral have agreed to launch a three-year program to develop artificial intelligence models for oil and gas reservoir development with an investment of more than 100 million euros ($115.4 million), the companies said. Shares of TotalEnergies were 0.3% higher pre-bell.
