⑴ The FTSE 100 Index rose by about 0.5% on Friday, driven by gains in mining stocks. ⑵ Glencore climbed over 3%, Anglo American rose nearly 3%, Antofagasta and Fresnillo each gained over 2%. Endeavour Mining also rose about 2%. ⑶ United Utilities increased by 0.6% after the water company said its operating performance remained in line with expectations and it is seeking support for its £1 billion network investment. ⑷ Oil giants moved in the opposite direction: BP fell by more than 2%, and Shell declined by over 1%.
