Nvidia reportedly in talks to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in Firmus

According to The Information, citing sources familiar with the matter, NVIDIA (NVDA.US) is in talks to invest several hundred million US dollars in Australian AI cloud service provider Firmus. Earlier this month, Firmus abruptly withdrew its IPO plan. This negotiation indicates that NVIDIA may continue to support a group of cloud computing companies that have not yet been fully validated by the market, known as Neocloud (new AI cloud service providers). These companies previously took on significant debt to purchase NVIDIA GPUs and deploy them in data centers, and are now facing increasing financial pressure. The media outlet’s analysis notes that NVIDIA has committed more than 170 billion US dollars in funding for such companies and other large clients, including providing credit guarantees to help them secure debt financing.
