Sony Game Studio was blackmailed by Rhysida for 50 Bitcoins last week, and now 98% of confidential data has been leaked
On December 20th, Rhysida ransomware group announced that they had breached Insomniac Games, a Sony game studio, and threatened to leak 1.67TB of confidential data, including 1.3 million files, unless the company paid a ransom of 50 bitcoins (worth $2 million at the time) within 7 days. Last week, these files were immediately put up for auction, but only 2% of the leaked files were sold. Currently, the remaining 98% of Insomniac's data has been made public, including the studio's "Spider-Man 2," three "X-Men" contracts signed by Sony and Marvel in 2021, as well as personal employee documents such as I-9 forms and passport scans.
