Messari Report: Filecoin's Storage Market Continues to Grow in the Fourth Quarter of 2023

Messari released the Filecoin Q4 2023 status report, with key points as follows:

 

Filecoin's storage market continued to grow in Q4 2023, with active transactions increasing by 23% quarter-on-quarter and 414% year-on-year. Meanwhile, the storage utilization rate grew from 13% in Q3 '23 to 18% in Q4 '23, while Filecoin's storage capacity continued to decrease by 15% quarter-on-quarter;

 

By the end of 2023, over 1800 customers had introduced datasets on Filecoin, among which the dataset size of 465 customers exceeded 1000 TiB, an increase of10% quarter-on-quarter and a growth of196% year-on-year; The introduction of Ethereum-like smart contracts through Filecoin Virtual Machine (FVM) has supported new use cases. Since FVM was launched in March '23 till the end of that year , TVL had exceeded $230 million;

 

The proposal to deploy Uniswap V3 on FVM has been successfully executed and may usher in a new phase for DeFi applications built on the Filecoin network; The launch of community plan FIP0001v2 is aimed at improving and expanding the Filecoin Improvement Process (FIP) and governance process.
