Michael Saylor: Bitcoin Will Overtake Gold in the Future
Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of MicroStrategy (MSTR), said in a CNBC interview that BTC will be a more valuable asset than gold in the future, saying, "Bitcoin is at least digital gold, and it's going to outperform gold in the future in that it has all the great attributes of gold and it doesn't have any of the flaws of gold. " Saylor reminded that the upcoming halving of bitcoin in April will reduce its block rewards by 50 percent, which means that only 450 new bitcoins will enter the market every day. "The price of bitcoin will have to adjust in order to meet investor demand," he said. MicroStrategy holds 205,000 bitcoins, worth nearly $15 billion at the current price of $72,000 per token.
