Hong Kong Bitcoin Spot ETF Will Not Be Included in the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect Program
According to WuSay, Richard Byworth, managing partner of SyzCapital and a Bitcoin investor, has said that a Hong Kong Bitcoin spot ETF may be included in the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect program. However, Hong Kong ETF issuers have denied this, saying that this is just like the previous rumors that southbound funds can buy Hong Kong Bitcoin ETFs. They further clarified that Hong Kong's ETF circular prohibits the sale of virtual asset-related products to mainland Chinese investors.
