The amount of Bitcoin held by publicly traded companies doubled in 2024, with the increase exceeding the total for the previous five years

According to data from Bitcoin Treasuries cited by Cryptoslate, the number of Bitcoins held by listed companies reached 592,112 BTC in 2024. Bitwise Research Director Ryan Rasmussen emphasized that this figure is twice the total amount of Bitcoin accumulated by various institutions over the past five years. On January 1, 2024, the number of Bitcoins held by listed companies was 272,777 BTC.
