State Council: tariff rate on imports originating in the United States increased from 84% to 125%
The Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council announced an announcement on adjusting the tariff measures on imports originating in the United States, starting from 12 April 2025, the tariff rate on imports originating in the United States will be adjusted from 84% to 125%, as stipulated in the Announcement of the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council on Adjustment of the Measures for the Addition of Tariffs on Imported Commodities Originating in the United States. from 84 per cent to 125 per cent. Given that there is no possibility of market acceptance for U.S. goods exported to China under the current tariff level, China will ignore any subsequent tariff increase by the U.S. on Chinese goods exported to the U.S.
