NFT brand Pudgy Penguins waddles into mobile gaming with launch of Pudgy Party
Quick Take Pudgy Penguins has launched a web3 mobile title called Pudgy Party, built in partnership with Mythical Games, featuring fast-paced mini games, customization, and digital collectibles. The game does not include the PENGU token at launch, but Pudgy Penguins and Mythical Games are exploring “interesting ways” to integrate PENGU, MYTH, and other tokens in the future.

The popular NFT brand Pudgy Penguins and FIFA Rivals creator Mythical Games announced the global launch of the web3 mobile game Pudgy Party on Friday.
Pudgy Party is a lighthearted party-royale title set in a world of fast-paced mini-games, featuring a cast of recognizable Pudgy Penguins characters with distinct traits, powers, and personalities, according to a statement shared with The Block. Every match is designed to feel fresh and unpredictable, with rotating challenges and unexpected twists to ensure that no two parties are the same.
"The heart of Pudgy Penguins has always been about connection and spreading good vibes," Pudgy Penguins CEO Luca Netz said. "Bringing our beloved, viral characters to life in a mobile multiplayer game is an exciting step forward in our mission to create joyful, meaningful experiences for our growing global community. Pudgy Party is fun, accessible to players of all ages, and designed to bring people together."
Players can customize their penguins with outfits, emotes, and collectibles — some non-tradable, others limited-edition and tradable via Mythical's marketplace, with the option to mint, upgrade, and fuse rare items into NFTs on Mythical's EVM-compatible Polkadot parachain, Mythos Chain.
The game also features seasonal events with meme-inspired costumes, global leaderboards, and real-time tournaments where players compete for prizes and rankings, starting with "Dopameme Rush" on Aug. 29. Pudgy Party aims to combine party-game charm with blockchain-powered ownership and community-driven play.
"Pudgy Penguins is one of the few web3 brands that has successfully broken through to mainstream audiences, thanks to their strong retail presence and highly engaged community," Mythical Games CEO John Linden added. "We're thrilled to launch Pudgy Party with them and bring this playful IP to gamers around the world. This is exactly the kind of project that shows how web3 can deliver fun, value, and accessibility to everyone."
Pudgy Penguins' expanding product lines
Plans for the Pudgy Party game were first unveiled in May 2024. Earlier this week, a soulbound token called "Early to the Party" was awarded to those who pre‑registered, offering them a non‑transferable digital badge ahead of the launch.
Pudgy Party is free to download on iOS and Android and follows Pudgy Penguins' launch of its desktop-based Pudgy Worlds game, Solana-based PENGU token , and the rollout of its penguin plushies and other collectibles in Walmart stores last year.
A Pudgy Party spokesperson told The Block that although the new game does not include the PENGU token at launch, the Pudgy Penguins and Mythical Games teams are exploring "interesting ways" to integrate PENGU, MYTH, and other tokens in the future.
Pudgy Penguins is currently the second-largest NFT collection by floor price, according to The Block's data dashboard. It ranks fourth by market cap, valued at $417.4 million compared to $2.1 billion for market leader CryptoPunks.
