On Monday in Las Vegas, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang introduced the company's newest AI technologies during a major presentation at CES.
Main Highlights
- Nvidia and AMD both presented their latest advancements in artificial intelligence at the Consumer Electronics Show.
- Jensen Huang emphasized that Nvidia’s newest chips are versatile, powering everything from AI model development to robotics and autonomous vehicles.
Investors in the tech sector received updates on the future plans of two leading AI chip manufacturers during the event.
Jensen Huang of Nvidia (NVDA) and Lisa Su of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) each took the stage at CES to introduce their companies’ state-of-the-art AI processors. Huang highlighted Nvidia’s Rubin platform, which is designed to support a broad spectrum of uses, including building and training AI models, as well as enabling robotics and self-driving technologies.
Following the presentations, Wedbush analysts noted that the expansion into robotics and autonomous driving could open up significant new markets for Nvidia. They projected that these opportunities might help increase Nvidia’s market value to $6 trillion in the future, up from its current valuation of around $4.7 trillion.
Investor Impact
Nvidia has risen to become the most valuable company globally, largely due to its dominance in supplying hardware for the artificial intelligence revolution. Maintaining leadership in chip technology is crucial for Nvidia’s stock performance, especially as rivals like AMD strive to demonstrate their own competitive edge.
The company also announced that its AI-driven driver assistance system will be featured in a new Mercedes-Benz model launching later this year. Analysts have previously identified Nvidia as a potential major beneficiary of the growing autonomous vehicle and robotaxi market.
Lisa Su’s keynote later that evening spotlighted AMD’s latest chips for data centers and AI-powered robotics.
In recent trading, Nvidia’s stock rose by about 2%, while AMD’s shares dipped by 2%, following minor losses for both companies earlier in the day.
