PayPal: Nearly 40% of US merchants now accept cryptocurrency payments
Foresight News reported that according to a joint research report released by the National Cryptocurrency Association (NCA) and PayPal, cryptocurrency payments are rapidly entering the mainstream of U.S. commerce. The survey results show that 39% of U.S. merchants already accept cryptocurrency at checkout, and 84% of merchants believe that cryptocurrency payments will become widespread within the next five years. The research points out that customer demand is the main driving factor for adoption, with 88% of merchants having received inquiries from customers about cryptocurrency payments. Among merchants who have already accepted cryptocurrency, crypto payments account for about 26% of total sales, and 72% of these merchants reported an increase in their cryptocurrency sales over the past year. Large enterprises (with annual revenue exceeding 500 millions USD) have the highest adoption rate, reaching 50%. Merchants believe the main advantages of accepting cryptocurrency include fast transaction speed (45%), attracting new customers (45%), and enhanced security (41%).
