Documents obtained by Reuters show that an international consortium of several energy companies is planning to build a gas turbine combined cycle power plant with an installed capacity of 1,000 to 1,800 megawatts, along with supporting liquefied natural gas import infrastructure.

The plan will adopt advanced combined cycle technology, achieving hierarchical utilization of energy through gas-fired power generation and waste heat recovery systems, and is expected to increase overall power generation efficiency to over 60%. The project plan includes a dedicated LNG receiving terminal, storage and regasification facilities, and a high-pressure gas transmission network. Once completed, it will become a key regional clean energy hub. The consortium has already initiated preliminary feasibility studies, but specific investment scale and member composition have not yet been publicly disclosed.
