Jinse Finance reported that on March 18, despite Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) doing everything he could to persuade President Donald Trump to pardon him, the latest news from Washington, D.C. is not optimistic for the FTX founder and convicted felon. SBF stole over $8 billions from customers and was subsequently sentenced to 25 years in federal prison. For months, the convicted fraudster has been frantically posting pro-Trump messages on the X platform, blaming his conviction on "Biden's political justice machine" and heavily promoting "Make America Great Again" (MAGA) policies. However, bipartisan members of the U.S. Congress have scoffed at this. Pro-crypto Republican Senator Bernie Moreno told Politico: "This guy is trash and should never be pardoned." Meanwhile, pro-crypto Democratic Senator Cynthia Lummis said she hopes Trump will not be deceived by SBF's blatant selfish rhetoric. Another pro-crypto Republican, Mike Flood of Nebraska, found it unbelievable: "He crashed the market and committed massive fraud. Wall Street would never invite him back to clean up the mess." Democratic Congressman Sam Liccardo also joined the criticism, sarcastically saying that unless enough money is offered to buy a corrupt pardon, it is absolutely impossible.
