Three strategic islands: US military island seizure plan emerges

Qeshm Island and Kish Island are located at the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz. Analysts say that if the US occupies these islands, it would not only gain a tactical advantage but could also use them as leverage in negotiations with Iran. ⑶ Currently, shipping in the Strait of Hormuz has been continuously disrupted. The US previously issued a 30-day sanction waiver on Iranian oil to ease supply pressure, but if the military plan to seize the islands is implemented, it will directly impact the lifeline of global energy transportation.
