Impacted by model upgrades, Toyota's global production declined for the fourth consecutive month in February

Glonghui, March 30 — Toyota Motor said on Monday that global production in February declined for the fourth consecutive month, mainly due to the capacity decrease at its Canadian plants and the transition in production between the old and new models of the popular RAV4 SUV. Global vehicle production decreased by 3.9% year-on-year to 749,673 units. Toyota stated that overall demand remains strong, and the output decrease was mainly due to the transition between the old and new RAV4 SUV models. Regional year-on-year production changes: Canada: down 46.2%; China: down 11.5%; Japan (domestic): down 2.6%; Middle East: down 20.4%; United States: up 3.4%; Europe: up 3.9%. Global sales fell by 3.3% year-on-year to 737,134 units. Overseas sales decreased by 2.2% year-on-year, mainly dragged down by a 13.9% decline in the Chinese market and an 8.3% drop in Japan, while U.S. market sales increased by 3.2%. All production and sales figures above include the Lexus luxury brand. Calculations show that in 2025, Toyota will have been the world's top-selling carmaker for the sixth consecutive year.
