French Finance Minister: The French economy will overcome short-term slowdown

Golden Ten Data reported on April 14 that French Finance Minister Roland Lescure stated that France is relying on long-term investments, including investments by U.S. companies in the data center sector, to help overcome the economic slowdown triggered by Middle East conflicts. In an interview, Lescure said: “When we entered this crisis, the French economy was quite strong. In the short term, we are indeed experiencing some slowdown, but what we are doing is investing. When someone wants to build a data center outside the United States, they will consider France because we offer carbon-free, abundant, and affordable electricity.” He stated last week that the impact of the Iran war on the French economy is “relatively mild,” and economic activity may “remain in line” with the government’s forecast of 1% growth in 2026.
