Leader of Hungary's Tisza Party: "Friendship" oil pipeline may resume supply next week

Golden Ten Data reported on April 17 that Hungary's Prime Minister-elect and leader of the Tisza Party, Péter Magyar, cited the head of Hungarian Oil and Gas Company (MOL) as saying that Russian oil deliveries to Hungary through the "Druzhba" pipeline may resume next week after several months of interruption. Magyar told reporters on Friday that the executive informed him of the resumption of oil transport and that he would visit Russia next week to discuss oil supply issues. Magyar stated: "Simply restarting the pipeline is not enough; there also needs to be oil deliveries." The pipeline, which transports Russian oil to Central Europe via Ukraine, has been out of operation since it was damaged by a Russian drone strike in January.
