The US Court of International Trade rejects the request to restore the import ban on Apple Watch

Glonghui, April 20 — A US trade court ruled in favor of Apple last Friday, rejecting medical technology company Masimo's request to reinstate an import ban on the Apple Watch. The US International Trade Commission (ITC) dismissed Masimo's complaint after earlier refusing to review the ITC judge's initial ruling in March, which found that Apple's redesigned Apple Watch did not infringe on Masimo's patents related to blood oxygen monitoring technology. Masimo, a subsidiary of Danaher, may appeal the decision to the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington. Apple stated: "We appreciate the ITC’s decision, which ensures we can continue offering this important health feature to our users. For the past six years, Masimo has launched relentless legal attacks against Apple, nearly all of which have been rejected."
