European monthly LNG imports may decline for the first time in over a year
Europe’s maritime natural gas supply has experienced its first monthly decline in over a year due to terminal construction and tightening global gas supply. Data shows that, so far this month, the number of LNG carriers arriving in Europe is lower than in April last year, and this gap is widening as time goes on. Data intelligence firm Kpler predicts that imports may decrease by about 3% this month, marking the first year-on-year decline since early 2025. Kpler analyst Ronald Pinto stated that the drop in European imports in April is the result of various combined factors, including scheduled maintenance and unscheduled shutdowns at import terminals in Spain, Greece, Italy, and Germany, as well as tighter global supply.
