Trump’s “Magical Day”: Endorses TRUMP holders during the day, involved in gunshot incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in the evening

At 8:35 PM Eastern Time, five to eight gunshots were heard near the main security entrance outside the banquet hall. Trump was evacuated by the Secret Service before his speech, and the "very intense" speech that was prepared was not delivered. Thanks to a bulletproof vest, a Secret Service agent was unharmed; the suspect was arrested and neither Trump nor cabinet members were injured. Afterwards, Trump returned to the White House to hold a press conference, calling for "peaceful resolution of differences" and stating that the dinner would be rescheduled within 30 days. When asked why such incidents kept occurring, he responded, "Only the most influential and effective people get targeted. I don’t really want to say this, but I feel honored."

Trump’s “two events in one day” highlight the two most contentious themes of his second term: conflicts over crypto business interests and strained relations between the White House and the media. The shooting in the evening has also brought the issue of his personal safety to the forefront, forming a third, underlying tension.
