Intel Market Cap Surpasses $500 Billion, Trump Administration's Stake Nearly Quintuples in Less Than a Year
BlockBeats News, May 1st, according to Bitget market data, the market cap of the US stock Intel has exceeded $500 billion, with a stock price surpassing $100, a intraday gain of 4.8%, and a year-to-date increase of over 173%.
In August last year, the Trump administration converted $8.9 billion in the "Chip Act" appropriation and Secure Enclave funding into 433.3 million shares of Intel, priced at $20.47 per share, acquiring approximately 9.9% ownership. With Intel's intraday stock price reaching $100 today, the current value of this holding is approximately $49.5 billion, nearly quintupling in less than a year. Furthermore, the US government also holds warrants to purchase an additional 5% stake at $20 per share.
