Golden Ten Data reported on May 14 that two ships fully loaded with cooking fuel, traveling from the Persian Gulf to India, appear to have passed through the Strait of Hormuz, becoming the latest vessels to ignore ongoing restrictions from the US and Iran and successfully transit the strait. Among these two liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers, one named “Symi” appeared in the Gulf of Oman on Thursday after shutting off its transponder; the other, named “NV Sunshine,” “disappeared” from radar just after crossing the strait. With the successful passage of these two ships, the total number of large oil tankers, fuel vessels, and gas carriers passing through the Strait of Hormuz has increased to nine since last Sunday. This number has risen compared to recent weeks and comes amid stalled negotiations aimed at ending the war.
