```htmlGolden Ten Data reported on June 25 that U.S. Energy Secretary Wright warned the European Union that if the EU refuses to relax its regulations on methane (a potent greenhouse gas), the U.S. natural gas supply will “flow to other regions.” “If these regulations are not genuinely reformed, it will cause severe pain to Europe, which is entirely unnecessary,” Wright stated. “This is not about escalating the situation. Our energy will always flow somewhere; it will just go elsewhere.” Previously, EU Energy Commissioner Dan Jorgensen vowed to withstand pressure from the U.S. and other LNG exporting countries and insisted on revising regulations aimed at curbing methane emissions. The U.S. had warned the EU that the complexity and potential fine risks of these regulations would jeopardize trade. EU energy ministers are scheduled to meet in Luxembourg this Friday to discuss the regulatory rules.```
