With Middle East geopolitical risk premium fading, Dubai stock market set to post best quarterly performance in a year

Golden Ten Data, June 29 — The ceasefire in the Middle East conflict has attracted investors back, and Dubai's stock index is expected to record its best quarterly performance in nearly a year. The Dubai Financial Market General Index rose by about 11% in the second quarter (April to June), offsetting the decline earlier in 2026, although the index level remains well below that prior to the outbreak of the conflict. Salah Shamma, Head of Middle East and North Africa Equity Investments at Franklin Templeton, stated that if a permanent ceasefire agreement is reached, combined with strong local policy support, Dubai is likely to regain its appeal to both population and capital.
